The goal of the Chaiª logo project was to combine as many multi-layered and interrelated ideas into as simple and aesthetically pure a symbol and identity as possible. Chai™ is HP's Java™ clone for embedded device intelligence. The typographic symbol is a combination of smallness (lowercase letters), fastness (italics), a subtle combinational play on both the yin/yang of the East and the simultaneous withiness withoutness that represents embedded intelligence and the larger world outside to which it's connected.
