To route calls by a person's name, the people symbol is chosen. After this symbol is activated, the center menu will display itself as shown above to control the routing of calls in this manner. The operator can choose either routing by telephone or signal by pager. When the operator first arrived at this menu as in this case, the system defaults to a route-by-phone mode.
